Buzz. I had a look at your bike picture, in your gallery. It looks like a 4 cylinder machine. You have it listed as a 400cc engine. I thought the 400's were twin cylinder bikes? Sure you don't have a 550?

Nope,it`s a xj400zs 1982 jap market only import,it is an inline 4,basically the same as the xj550.As far as the exhausts go,I am in uk,so not much use to any overseas riders,as they are dirt cheap, about 35 uk pounds a pair, but overseas postage/exchange rates would be far too high,I just sent a 2kg package to cousin in Az,cost me about 70 u.s dollars to post!
    Cheers all

Look identical to those sold by JC Whitney from around $25 to $50. Search JCW under 'chrome muffler' - there are a few types available.

I think you refer to THESE. I wasn't able to find them searching the web site. I actually had to resort to (GASP!) the paper catalog.

Some of those Prize Winning Selections found within the pages of the JC Whitney Catalog should be on pages with a little Icon of a cross-eyed idiot wearing a dunce cap!

"Guaranteed to increase your mileage by a 1,000,000 Percent!

I bought the "Intermittant Windshield Wiper Kit for my MGB, way back when, and all it did was stop the wipers every now and then!

Not ... return them to the Parked position.
    Just STOP!

I should have had that purchase shipped directly to the Landfill!

You misunderstood my question. I was wondering who the manufacturer was. I have been looking at these: http://tinyurl.com/27z8xo
So if they are the same ones made in Tiawan they would worth a try for me. So far I haven't found anyone who has put them on an inline four or an XJ.

Cheap Cheap Cheap, but I love the sound.

Got mine off e-bay for 30 bucks, because my bike came with a sportbike-style slip-on... Looked out of place.

Anyone know if these will fit an '81 Maxim?

They look pretty close to what I've got now.

I have a pair of the Megaphone mufflers JCW item #ZX017556T, brand new in the box. I bought them because they were advertised as being original 700 mufflers, which they weren't (obviously!) when I received them, and the seller refused to take them back.

I'll take $79 for the PAIR of them, plus shipping, that's over $40 less than what JC Whiteny offers them for on sale:

They should fit an XJ650 just fine. They have a really long mounting bracket/flange to allow them to fit almost anything....although the mounting method may differ slightly from stock (or have to be fabricated).

Sorry Bluemaxim, they were bought from a shop,no manafacturers marks on them, probably chinese, chrome quality is quite good, but thats all i know, but like i said, been monitoring running and everything is just fine, had to make my own baffle plate as they are straight through and would be far too loud for the UKcops!!,if you get some,i`ll show you how i made the baffles.
    Cheers
