It looks like the seal is in the gasket. You can e mail Yambits and ask them to confirm this if you want but as it is a full rebuild kit you should be good to assemble the engine l believe.

Thanks all for the help on this. It seems the kit provided everything I need. Yambits was super helpful.

I have a final request for you pros out there.
Should I use and kind of gasket sealant for the top part ?

The end plugs (half moon plastic) I could reuse but they would need some sealant under and I was wondering if you guys do that or add sealant also with the gasket. Local shop sells sealant resistant to 200 degrees. Loctite brand.

ok cool, thats clear. I dont have this model of engine. Mine is the european 4K0

so the red tacky thing also acts as sealant. My valve cover isnt very flat ( The gasket surface ) but i dont want to sand it as i want to avoid metal particles into that area. So i hope the extra sticky thing and new seal will do.

Permatex is fine l would use that. Just use it in the channel of the cam cover and fit the gasket.

I would use the black gasket maker, it says not for exposure to fuel but the no fuel will be in the recess in the cam cover the gasket fits into. It is like the Loctite SI 5980 I have used. I just put a little in the recess on the cam cover pressed in the gasket and removed the slight amount of excess sealant so none of it got into the engine.

The new washers for the cam cover bolts if you have them compress the cover on to the head so it should seal fine. Old washers are not so good if they have deteriorated.

    Sweet,
The model I have (4k0) only has bolts for the cam cover. No washers. Then again I can always add some compressions washers but even from technical data, there isn't supposed to be any it seems.

Yes I would leave it the same way it left the factory.
