i recently picked up a 650 turbo for $200, i got it running and i started to think about where i wanted to go with this bike. first off i am taking all the plastic stuff off, missing front fairing anyway. i want to lower the a$$ end and install a more comfortable seat. what i would like to know is can i swap the stock gauges with a set of xs gauges( i read it should work with the seca not sure about the turbo). i would then mount a new boost gauge. i dont mind wiring stuff up but i want the bike to still be functional. can i mount a different tank and modify it to take a fuel pump( i know an expierienced welder)? basically i want the turbo and the bike to be functional, i just want it to look different. i think a stipped down turbo could look sick. any input would be greatly appreciated.
this is what im starting with

    Code:

well i only know a couple answers for lowering the back end. two that i have tried are just play cutting a couple coils out of the existing shocks... tried that one but sadly i cut just a bit too much out so i had to get some new ones (not to sad about that was kinda planning on it anyways) but lots of people in here have boughten harley davidson shocks and done a little bit of modification to the eyelets but after that i think they're straight bolt on... i'm in the process of doing that if the guy i purchased them from would ever send them out. i'll let you know how it goes.

I'm pretty sure you can't swap the gauges. The turbo has the computer that monitors all the bikes vitals and you likely need it for proper operation. That said, if you were any good with electronics you may be able to relocate the computer, strip down the instrument cluster and go with some aftermarket gauges or ones off an XS. Seems like a lot of work though.

You can lower the ass end by cutting 1" off the shock springs. They won't bottom out (unless you weigh 300 lbs.) Don't take any more off or you will run into trouble. Also, cutting the seat foam down an inch will help some too. Or just go with a solo seat which works equally as well.
