Hey I just got my first bike it’s a Gsx650f. So today my fairing kit and new stator came in. I was having problems because the battery would always die after a few min of riding in the neighborhood. So I put the new stator on and fairing kit on. I took my seat off cranked the bike and let it idle for a sec. I revved it up to approx 4k rpm and disconnect the battery to see if my problem was fixed but it ran very rough then shut off. Does anyone know what is the next step is on fixing this problem. I assume the next step is replacing the rectifier but I’m not entirely sure. Thank you in advance!

Find a Gsx650f forum. They can probably help you out. Side note don't disconnect battery while , running bad things can happen.

You are better with a GSX650f forum as @lostboy suggested because they know the common faults with your bike as we do with our Yamahas. You need to check your charging system with a multimeter to see if it is faulty, and get a Haynes manual for the bike if you do not have one already cheers.

I'll chime in here with some generic info tho

A charging system will typically produce somewhere around 14 volts at the battery terminals when charging properly.
And by disconnecting the battery while it was running like you did could possibly fry a regulator, because the regulator may go beyond its output capabilities trying to charge what it thinks is a flat dead battery.

As others said before me, try to find a forum or group specific to your bike that would be able to give you more thorough tips and advice.
