Hey all, noticed the other day when riding at night that with the key all the way to the right, the headlights are on, but none of my running lights are on, yikes. All my lights work, turn signals brakes front and rear, but the lights wont illuminate like they should. If I take the key and turn it halfway to all the way to the right, the lights all come on like they should, but the natural vibrations cause it to slowly drift to the right until they flicker and turn off. I'm not sure what would cause this, but I did try turning the key on and off a bunch in case of corrosion. The only thing to note that may be causative is that the bike was dropped and the instrument cluster is broken in a few places. Before I dug into trying to take it all apart and clean it I just wanted to see if you guys had any guidance. In the past its saved me a bit of time! Also since I'm here and asking, the key slot has a "lock" engravement as well as off and on, and the key wont turn to lock so what is that for. Also, if in the ?off? position, I can push the entire silver key ignition cylinder inwards like half an inch. What is that all about? Thanks for reading and possibly helping!

Try turning the front wheel all the way left or right, push in on the ignition key and turn to Lock. Try it. Then try to straighten the wheel.

Ypu have to push the key tumbler in then release then turn to the left to engage the steering lock

I did yesterday when I went out for a ride! It will be added to my post ride checklist, along with the cover and wheel lock.

It's not unknown for these type of push-and-turn steering locks to jam solid if they've not been used for years.
    Just so's you know. ;)

Yep the lock function works great, now it's just trying to figure out what's wrong with the lights. Is there a contact that can get corroded, if so how do I take apart the lock cylinder, I don't see any bolts or screws.....
