XJ 750 Maxim idles high

    I bought a 750 Maxim. It starts and runs for a few minutes then all of a sudden the idle speed increases to around 4000. I can ride the bike and there doesn't seem to be a problem, other than the idle. I'm new to working on bikes and have done some work on my own. Replaced the petcock and cleaned the carbs. Any h elp would be appreciated.

    Check for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner on each of the throttle shaft ends and around the intake boots.
