Sec a maxim engine?

    I have a spare engine I bought can the Seca engine be used in a maxim?

    That depends. Which Seca, and which Maxim? There are several models that share those names, but not all of them share the same parts.
    If both engines are of the same drive type (chain or shaft) and displacement, then they can be swapped 1:1 as a general rule. There are some modifications that need to be made to the engine mounts depending on which model of XJ you are working on.

    When I bought it I was told it was out of a 1982 Sec a it is shaft drive and a 650 will try to post pictures.

    The number stamped on the engine would answer definitively about where the engine came from.

    See my reply in your for sale thread. That is a bolt-in swap for a Maxim 650 or Maxim 700/750.
