Hey all- newcomer to this site and to vintage bikes in general. I recently acquired a 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim and am looking for service manuals. I'd like to get the correct, OEM Yamaha one, and whatever others (Haynes, Clymer, etc.) are recommended by the folks here who are definitely more knowledgeable than me.

I see some PDFs and forums posts, but I'm an old school guy who likes to be able to flip through a physical manual whenever possible.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey MG,

If you go on Forums> Supporting Vendor you'll see Chacal/Len able to provide the original manual, and other supporting service manuals. I'd recommend the Haynes manual, although there is the original Yamaha Service Manual & the Owner's manual. It really depends on what you need to know. Len is the best at getting any parts you need.
The information overload hour is a well written guide as well on what you should look into.
