Went to start my XJ650j after a few months sitting in my garage for the winter and she fired right up - yea! Bad news is shortly thereafter I saw (and smelled) gas streaming out of the airbox. Pretty sure a float got hung up.

I didn't have any luck wacking the float bowels to try and free them up. Just curious, I noticed on YouTube that some people claim to have dislodged the float by blowing air thru the fuel line. Has anyone tried that on their XJ? Just rebuilt these carbs a little while ago and was hoping to avoid having to pull them again.

    Thx!

I had the bike level but still no luck with the wack the mole approach.

No leak appears with the petcock on prime as long as it is not running. As soon as I start the bike and rev it up, however, gas shoots out into the air box.
