Hi all. My bike fell over in the wind yesterday while I was at work. I came home picked it up and let it dry off. Started it later that night and rode for 30 mins and then it started bogging down and acting like it’s flooded. Will turn over and try to start but not fully engage and start. Any suggestions on what to do as I’m new to bikes-Jaytin (82 xj750 maxim)

Check the oil level. If the window is over full, to a sniff test of the oil, might have some fuel in there. If the bike fell over, one or more of the floats might be stuck, and you will get fuel in the oil. Replace the oil and filter and lightly tap on the outside if each float cover to see if that corrects the issue.

Is it a sealed AGM battery? If not it may have leaked and lost soem oomph.

I had this happen on a DR650. When it tipped the slides got jammed. It would not start even though the engine was already warmed up. Just for giggles I tried choking it and it fired right up. It’s like by putting the choke on it reset everything. Makes no sense, but it worked. I dumped the bike again with a no start situation, tried the choke on and off and again it fired right up. Worth a try!?
