Ignition coil help!!!

    Hello. I have a problem. I'm trying to do a simple wiring for an XJ550 engine to put in a go kart. I wouldn't like to put the battery on the go kart... How are the ignitor and ignition coil getting power? Do they take it from the battery or the alternator? Can anybody of you guys help me with a simple (extremely simple pls aahaha) wiring diagram just to start if the coils aren't powered by the battery? Because I've seen the other ones online and they didn't help me at all because they still have headlight, tail light.... And I don't have the starter solenoid, i have to bypass it. Thank you very much!!!

    I think you will need a battery, but someone on here will know for sure. That's a lot of engine for a go-cart!!!
