Hello, I searched and did not find a definitive answer -- Are the centerstands for Maxims and Secas the same? I have a Seca and it didn't have a centerstand when I bought it, I got one from Ebay and it bolts on no problem, but it's really hard to get on the stand and I'm not sure if it's terrible technique, a slightly taller stand or some combination.

    Thanks

Looks like the 650 Maxim and Seca center stands are different part numbers.

I don’t know how they differ - could probably find an example of each and compare - but would take a while to dig them out

Thanks, no need for the actual difference. I'm guessing it's just the height that's different -- explains the difficulty I had getting on the stand

People make the mistake of trying to lift the bike on to the stand.
Instead focus on increasing the distance between the foot pad on the stand and the grab rail, push those 2 points apart and it sits right up.

So long as the springs aren't shagged after 40 years.

Fair point, the spring wasn't very difficult to put on and looking at the threads here suggests it should be a real pain.
