If you're like me and were almost done with your carb clean/rebuild for... a while, you might also be like me and want a plug to keep critters from crawling into your engine via the intake boots. I swapped out the shop rags stuffed in the intake boots with these 3D printed caps.

I printed them with a .4mm nozzle, .2mm layer height (default settings across the board) and they had a nice snap fit into the intake boots. There are also some little tabs to help remove them if you ever feel the need to reinstall your carbs and ride your motorcycle.

Hey everybody— Kyle very graciously sent several sizes of these plugs to me to try out. We did notice one little thing in measuring before he made them. These are AWESOME!!! I’m not going to have to use up my scotchbright discs anymore (and I only have one size of them anyway—), and I won’t have to keep taping golfballs into the intake boots anymore:)

    here are a few pics—-
    He sent some for:
    550
    650/750
    700 airhead
    700X
    900

I have only tried the 650/750 ones at the moment since I JUST got the bag open and sorted out. Here are the 650/750 ones
Top view- measurement is in the top. I will recommend that maybe the bike model be added…

Here is the 650/750 set installed on a 650rj
They are measured to be the same size as the cab snout, and they fit in snugly just to the retaining ridge. The boot stretches juuuuust barely to make a good seal so they don’t fall out. The two ears make it very easy to grab hold to remove them.

Yes, I know Kyle has posted the printer file, but MY recommendation…… talk with him and BUY A SET from him if you are going to have your carbs off, whether for rebuild, of doing bike-work, etc….. It’s a great tool he developed!

Thank you, Kyle!! They will also be available to see at the CNYCC#19 next June! Maybe…. Just maayybeeee, there might even be some available either for purchase or as a door prize…..hmmmmm:rolleyes::rolleyes:;);)
