    Hey Everyone!
This may be my first post here though I registered years ago. Anyway I just bought an 1100 and the stock turn signal lights have been replaced with mini's and they do not work, won't even come on let alone blink. Is this a normal issue with LEDs? Hopefully it may just be a bad blinker relay. I've got 3 of the 4 originals that were removed. Won't hurt my feelings any to swap them back on after a find 1 more.
    Thanks!

loads of threads on this, led's wont work on the original "filament bulb" relay, led's don't draw enough current to operate the relay, unless you install load resistors to each turn signal
alternativley you can replace the original flasher relay with an electronic one, but you would loose the self cancelling feature, (if the 1100 has one

The other potential issue with LEDs is that they usually have a polarity. If connected backwards, they won't light at all. If connected the correct way but aren't drawing enough current to trip the flasher as @bensalf said, they would likely stay on all the time. So, you probably have at least two issues conspiring against you.

Make sure the new turns work. Jumper them acrosse a good known battery to make sure they work. Once they do, note what wires went to - and + when you go to hook them up. I think the last time I changed over an 1100 the lights would stay on and then not flash. You are saying you have no lights at all. Make sure you check the fuse box and if you still have the glass type, think of changing them over to spade type.

Does you bike have the 4 way flasher on the right bar control? Check to see if you have any lights when you try the 4 way. Good luck troubleshooting and let us know what you find.

Hi , as of a little over a month ago , I became a new owner of a 1982 XJ 1100 and I just want to learn all I can about them !!
Anyhow, I have the ‘Flasher’ switch on right side and turn signals work but nothing from flasher?

Thanks so much for all I’ve learned so far on here

I believe the flash relay is left side just behind the battery box under the seat.
