I've got a 1986 maxim 700, and my carb #3 is pretty much screwed. (Shredded pilot jet jamming up the hole) I've asked other and all they have said is just to replace the carbs. Well I'm not exactly having the best luck finding carbs for a 40 year old bike. Are there any good alternatives I can get that are a little more available? I believe my carbs are the mikuni bs33?

If it’s#3 that’s mangled, just get another #3 body. You don’t need to replace the whole rack…….unless all the other bodies are pooched, too.

Check with @chacal and if he doesn’t have one, I’ll see if I have an orphan

since we are talking Mikuni BS33’s I have to assume you have the water-cooled Maxim-X.
Those carbs are made specifically for that bike.
The body is shorter to clear the water pump. You cannot substitute any other carb.
