I just started riding last summer and man do I love it! I had no idea what I was missing! That makes this the first winter I've felt that terrible need to ride. Someone tell me it gets easier! Someone tell me I'm not the only lamer who sometimes stops to just sit on his bike and wish he could ride sometimes... or am I just a big baby?

I dont mean to slap you in the face, but winter really never happens here.
    Uncomfortable, yes, but unrideable NO.

The symptoms of depression can be battled by a heaping dose of Cleanerup.
Sometimes a supplement of Maintnence-agra works well with the first.
Not too bad of an reaction, well worth the risk.

That stuff is banned here, but I still see some rebel oldtimers who live on the wrong side of the law. :)

    I hate you.

No, I don't actually, really hate you. It's just that when I read things like "... winter really never happens here ....", I just sort of .... er, kinda .... ummm ....

    I hate you.

75% of the fun at 50% of the speed.

I just wear enough layers underneath my leathers to make me look like Bib the Michelin Man.

Ok, winters here may not be as harsh as the ones you have where you are, but 75 miles last night at -2C with no more than slightly chilly fingers at the end of it is good enough for me.

I feel your pain. I just started riding last summer -- always wanted a motorcycle and finally took the plunge. YeeHa! Then winter happened. Fortunately, it needs a little bit of work, so I've been spending small amounts of time on the weekends fixing it up, just to stay in touch. When the garage is warm enough, I'm out there with stuff that can't come in the house. When it's too cold, I'll pull something off and bring it inside to work on it. I've also spent a lot of time on this site being jealous of those still riding.

Warm weather has to come soon though, I've got the carbs back on, the starter all cleaned and lubed, new coils, new TCI, valve clearance adjusted, electrical connections cleaned and greased, alternator checked and cleaned... I'm running out of stuff to do inside. I need to get her outside and running for a carb tune and sync. Then a quick cleanup so she's real pretty, and... YeeHa!

By the way. Thanks everyone for being here. The information on this site has really been helpful in getting this thing back in shape.

that's how i feel! If there isn't any rain, snow, or ice, why shouldn't i be riding my bike!

lately i've been riding in -5 to 5c (25-35ish f), everyone keeps telling me i'm crazy, with my two pairs of everything, big down (cabellas) coat and a themalwear (cabellas) full face mask, even two pairs of gloves, riding gloves inside big snow gloves.

but man, I wouldn't have it any other way, i was warm, and it was comfortable!

As I post this I can look to my right and see great buckets of white falling past the window. By this time last year I was riding.

I think I'm gonna keep my eyes open for an old beat up 125 cc 2 stroke enduro. Put some knobby tires on it for winter satisfaction.

Count your blessings, ye of little sunshine. Which option would you rather have:
    1. Doing maintenance on your bike when the weather doesn't permit riding, or
    2. Doing maintenance on your bike when the weather does permit riding.
That there is the silver lining in your cloud of despair. I don't know about you, but I know which I'd rather have. No sense in burning perfectly good riding days wrenching on the bike.

MiCarl you won't believe it but I am sitting here with some snow on my yard.
Just a dusting but there none the least. I heard Ass.Fault's area got some too. So March took care of most of us this year.

Winter is why Canadian bikes look so nice. It's hard to wear them out when you can't ride them! A snowmobile in Texas should be in nice shape too.

Now that seems like a good plan. It would even sort out the damage this season has caused our roads here:

You are not kidding. I was driving the GMC Yukon on the freeway today. Had to dodge pits that woulda swallered it.

No your not the only one that feels like that, I feel that way too. It is also fueled on by the fact that my friends and I are building bikes for this summer (not me I'm just helping, I get to do an XS next winter). Like a chopperized honda and a bobberized kz750. I just cant wait to get out.

LMAO, most of the DPS officers really dont like me getting that baby up to highway speeds. But at least theres handwarmers ;)

You know this year has been strange, even for Texas standards. I have been blessed with riding time though even if maintnence needed to be done  The ONLY snow I saw this winter was in Columbus Ohio at the begining of December. They said it was the 1st snow of the year, 4", and they drove like it was(Horrible)
