    well.. i'll chime in.

not knowing too much about the bikes, specially anything other than 650.

If the exhaust & intake stuff from a seca turbo would work on the 550 engine and frame.

You'd look at about 30-40hp gain. but you'd also need some sort of pressurized fuel system, so you don't run really lean when at boost.

The Turbo Seca's use pressurized carbs, and a pressurized petcock fuel system w/ pump.

The engine also had it's compression lowered, as well as some stronger insides to withstand the boost.

easiest way to turbo a bike, is have one that's fuel injected, and computer managed, get a small turbo (no bigger than t3, infact that's way to big) Mitsubishi has alot of small turbos, from the 6a to i'd say 13g. Then a fuel management system, Megasquirt's the most used.

A dyno would help with tuning and such.

Oh, and the best thing about the turbo, it has no additional hp till it starts to build boost, which for the tiny tiny 6a turbo on the Seca turbo, starts out at 5500-6000.. and then it's like doubling your HP in an instant.

not so ugly naked! Wish my 550 could ever like that nice.
The old flat front lawn tractor style fairing was pretty nasty for sure.

He bought that for the same reason I would have, to own a little piece of history, and have a nice little collectors item.

bike looks sweet without the fairings, but i'd be all original, and put them back on :)
