    Hi All

After replacing the caps and transistors in these non starters TCI's they now immediately start at 6000rpm. I can Rev the engine a little more just to make sure that I have acceleration, but has anyone seen this problem before?

Were tested in a XJ750R? 1982? Australian Model?
    TYPE TID14-06 5G2-10 x 2units
    TYPE TID14-02 4H7-10 x 1unit

    Cheers
    Jeremy

Its something else.. like the throttle cable is hitchedup somewhere - the guide under the tank maybe.

Hi, I have done the following and I don't think it is a carby related issue

When engine isn't running move the throttle to check if it goes back to starting position. It does.
When engine is running move the throttle to check when if it goes back to starting position (Revs higher than 6000 but then drops back to 6000). It does.
    Adjusted idle screw no difference.
All of the adjustment caps on the carbs are on and secure.

The running theory at the moment is that the TCI is causing too many sparks(Frequency) at the idle stage, then the vacuum of the carbs takes over to keep up with the revs causing a viscus cycle of high revving @6000rpm.
If it was carby/fuel/throttle issue I would be more inclined that upon starting the bike it would cough, splatter, back fire or show some sort of imbalance but it doesn't as far as I can tell.

Pull a spark plug off and on, while running, and go through them.
Odds are it's way out of sync and one of the carbs is driving it up.
Or the butterfly mech is jammed open a bit... Remove the cable at the carbs.

If it's the TCI causing it, it would be weird since that is triggered by the crank rotating.

Seriously? on all three?? If it's that I'll eat my shoes. Its intake, air leak maybe but not TCI.
