How many times does the large throttle spring get wound?
And about how many turns on the throttle adjustment screw do I want to start at?
    Thanks for helping!

I found my answer...1 full rotation. BIG difference between my #4 carb, and #3 carb after reassembly. After 1 full rotation the #3 snaps fast. Gotta go back to #4 and redo.

I was wondering this also. My carbs are apart right now I’m waiting for a few parts but they are all clean and ready to go. So you did this for all the throttle shaft springs? Place them on and hook one of the tangs.. then one full rotation before hooking the other side?

I misunderstood the 180 degrees for a "full turn."
I had some springs so tightly wound that the spring deformed. Was obviously too tight. I put butterfly shaft in each carb, hooked spring, and wound it to where the butterfly would be fully open, perpendicular to the throat, like a "T", which gives plenty of tension. Also those 2 carbs with the nut on the one end, I could fully wrench them to where they naturally stop without the butterfly binding. I had to hold open shaft whilst meticulously slipping butterfly into throat. Carefully let off the shaft to line up holes. That was the hardest part for me. Push hard on your butterfly screws. One slip and you're not far from stripping them. I'm onto fuel level today.
GOOD LUCK TO US!! Just checking fuel needle holder. Thought with all the manhandling that they might have been dislodged or semi stuck.
Not so! So far so good.

The spring naturally lines up to the hook it holds onto on the carb body, and the shaft spot for the other end.
Just by twisting the shaft upward to where it would be fully open IS the 180 degree turn (a half circle)
