Petcock starting leaking last year and I never addressed it until now. Len got me fixed up but I have dark fuel residue all over the tank and side cover. Any tips on removing it? It's stubborn. Don't want to risk messing up my original paint. Thanks!

If the gas has stained into the paint/clearcoat, not much gonna fix that. You MAY get some of it out by using a polish, but IMHO doubtful. Maybe convince yourself nobody's gonna see it at 30 mph.

I ended up trying a little non chlorinated brake cleaner sprayed lightly on a rag to wipe down. Did the trick.
