Maxim Batwing

I bought one of those universal "tombstone" style windshields and it cut about 90% of the wind from my chest, but it created an insane helmet buffeting issue, seriously it was like someone was holding an electric random orbit sander against your head, and visually, it looked like it qualified as a non-consensual carnal sin. It was UGLY.

So I decided to make my own batwing fairing.

...it works soooo much better than that aftermarket universal "tombstone" style windshield, and it certainly looks a lot better.

 

All I can say is "wow!". Very impressive work.

 

It's not perfect, but it's not too shabby.

 

I would be interested in how you mounted it to the bike. I think you have done a great job forming that fairing. Well done Sir.

 

I fabricated some brackets that mount to the headlight and to the top of the triple tree.

 

That is fantastic.
And... 'You are Batman'.

 

This was probably the most enjoyable ride I've had on the bike, that batwing worked PERFECTLY, I had ZERO wind fatigue.
