1991 XJ900F black paint code

Hi all

I have been fortunate enough to acquire a 1991 XJ900F here in the UK which has only done a genuine 12,300 miles. It seems to be totally original and even has all the original stickers on the tank, wind shield, frame and even one on the wiring loom. It’s truly in amazing condition.

But, (there’s always a but!) it does have a few scratches on one of the side panels and bottom of the belly pan.

I want to get some paint to sort out the affected areas. The paint scheme is all black with what looks like a light metallic or ‘pearlised’ finish.

Does anyone know what the colour code is, where I can find it or what might be the nearest match? There’s a company here which thinks they might be able to mix up paint to the correct spec if they have a code. Short of that I’d have to send them a side panel or something to try and get close to.
