Harley Dyna mufflers on XJ900F

Silencers from a 2010 FXDWG, take-offs because of road rash. I can't see the scrape when they're mounted on this. The nose sections of the old mufflers made perfect packing pieces to mate the 38mm collector pipes with the 1.75" Hardly-Ableson bits.

 

@Dave in Ireland I have the exact same model, and I've seen you commenting on a few posts around this topic.
My bike has a 4-1 exhaust and I'd like to change it back to a 4-2. I have found two types, there is one new with a connector pipe specifically for the 4BB (super expensive), and one with a full collector box off a 83-84 31A which is much cheaper and includes header pipes ready to go. Any idea if the 31A model fits and sounds any good?

Also your video posted above doesnt work - does the bike sound good with those silencers?

Second question - your engine bars look great, did you buy them aftermarket or are they custom?

Sorry, I haven't a clue what will fit it, but given the bike basically is the same except for a slight capacity difference, I'd not be surprised if the 31A pipes will fit. My own collector box is getting a bit rotten, so I've been thinking of making a set of Suzuki GS850 pipes fit in its place.

One thing about the Dyna mufflers, because the downpipe on each H-D cyl is a different length, the mufflers have a baffle plate at a differing location. You can either knock it out of both of them or try to match the positions.

As for the engine bars, there are no makers labels on it, so <shrug> . They were on it when I got it.
