First, thank you for looking at this and any possible help..
HELP.. 911... Bike runs horribly. I know the carbs need major rebuilding. When cold and has been sitting for a while (hours, days. weeks) it is very hard to start. Once started it runs like it's crap, like it's starving for fuel and wants to cut off. Once it starts and is running you have to play with the throttle to keep it going. It also seems like the #1 cylinder takes a while to heat up, the header pipe slowly warms up, the others get hot faster. I tried rebuilding the carbs a couple of years ago but didn’t go to church, was skeptical about taking them that much apart and separating the four carbs and not getting them back right and still not sure about going that far, I also dont have a color tune or way to synch the carbs. I live in Daytona Beach FL and too far for hogfiddles carb clinic, anyone near that could help? Are there any suggestions on what else might be wrong other than the carbs? The wife is saying to sell it but I've had it since it was new and with not running right it makes it hard to put up a compelling reason for keeping it.
    Thank you, Joe

@jag3, I for one am going to encourage you to try again to do a thorough carb clean. Obviously if you have had it since new you have an emotional attachment to it as well as practical. The carbs are not as complicated as they seem if you take your time. Lots to read here, and lots of encouragement too. Separating them for things like throttle shaft seals looks lots harder than it is, a bit fussy, but not difficult. You can make a simple tool to sync the carbs once reassembled from a piece of clear plastic tubing and a colored fluid, I use ATF, that works well. And you can always do something like send to whole rack out to @hogfiddles for him to do the deed. And I know there are others here who do that also. I have done several racks of carbs myself and if I can do it I bet you can too!
