    Hey people...

I'm getting ready to paint the spare tank for my 750. Instead of using the original emblems, I want to get the Yamaha tuning fork logos and apply them under the clearcoat layer.

Any idea where one could get a set of those labels?

    Thanks!

Ebay has some of those tuning fork logos. I was thinking about putting them on myself when I repaint.

If the original emblems are in good shape, you interested in parting with them?

aren't the tuning fork logos in reference to Yamaha's musical side? I know they are yamaha's logo, but, i've always found the stickers and such in music shops that carry yamaha instruments.

Yamaha claims that they are also motorcycle forks, not just tuning forks.

The tuning forks are on all newer yamaha bikes, quads and sleds.

    ... And the instruments.

The story goes that they started off in 1887 as a piano and reed organ manufacturer, then started making motorcycles after WWII.

Yeah, i'm a band-geek and the yamaha tuning forks were seen alot. Yes they are on all of yamaha's things, but mainly it's for instruments.

I've only been playing yamaha for 22 years.

I was going to argue the fact that a company's logo is just a logo, no matter what...

BUT then I thought about Honda... Wings for racing, the word "HONDA" for bikes, A big H for cars... So I hear what you're saying.

Regardless, though, that's what they're using on the bikes now - so go ahead and use it on yours!

I did!! (pic before clearcoat, obviously).
