I am new to the site having just purchased a 1983 750 midnight maxim in a very, very bad state. She hasn't been on the road for years and needs a lot of work to get her back there.Things she needs include side panels, carbs, seat or I will get the old one recovered, petrol cap or tank with cap.Could anyone tell me if the carbs from a 1982 750 seca will be o.k. for my 1983 750 maxim, thanks.

You should be ok with the Seca carbs. Swap the primary and secondary jets and you are in there. Worst case scenario, jets are $8 a whack. The carb bodies and everything else are direct swap.
