    It ran fine, I parked it for a couple of weeks, now it acts like it is not firing on #2 & 3. When try to start it, it just turns over and then when I stop cranking it, it will backfire. I know little to nothing about the ignition system on these bikes, and really, 4 carbs is a bit more effort than I really want to deal with. My original idea was to get an XS650, but this one came along and I thought I'd give it a try. I have decided to resume my search for an XS.

    My Seca just sold on eBay. Someone bought it for the Buy It Now price. Now I just need to find a good XS650.

    Hey man.

    My 1981 Maxim was backfiring when trying to start and then running like that. Turned out to be a dry battery. I installed a new one and it is running fine.
