Take the Bill of Sale and photo I.D. to the DMV.
    Be Very Polite.
    Apply for a lost title.
Call the DMV first and tell them the situation and ask them what documentation you need to apply for a lost title.

All they want to do is make sure you didn't steal the bike.
Be patient as it may take a while to do the title search.

That's how it works in OH.

    Good Luck

I would also get with your local boys in blue and have them run it thru the system and give you a letter with a thumbs up to procede. It will save you some time.

this is how it's done in nebraska..

bill of sale, bike, and a signed affidavit saying it's your bike you bought it fairly and such and such.

they do take a bit processing, but usually only a few weeks.

with cars it's a bit more. but bikes are pretty easy.

hears how it is going to go down... i will have to go to the dmv and get a value of the bike deturmand plus half... thanks the paperwork form the dmv and go to a bonding agent and give them the paperwork and 100 bucks and they will put a bond out on the bike for that amount... then i take the bond to the dmv and give it to them and they put the title and reg in my name and i go home and go for a ride on my new bike... it is going to take a lot of work but will be worth it in the end im sure... saves me a lot of work moving parts from one frame to the other... thanks to everyone mark
