OK, so I'm stuck (literally) on figuring out how to extricate the enrichment circuit valves on my Mikuni BS33's #2 & #3 carbs. I really would hate to break another plunger or worse yet, deform the bore! Anyone else out there face a similar situation? Any success stories? Thanks in advance!

    a) Penetraing liquid, overnight.

    b) heat on the area of the carbs surrounding the pistons....a tiny amount of heat, over a long period of time (let's say, 5 minutes), to gradually allow the aluminum to expand.

    c) cold (ice cube, etc.) held onto the brass plunger tip for a few moments to draw out all the heat from the brass plunger (allowing it to shrink, or at least not expand as much as the surrounding aluminum).

    d) a couple of gentle taps from a hammer on the plunger tip to loosen things as much as possible.

    e) Prayer.

You have to be VERY careful with HEAT on the Mikuni Enrichment Valves.

The bottoms of the Valve Bodies have Rubber Seals.

Take off the Rubber Dust Covers
Use a 6-Point Socket to loosen the Bodies
Impact the Ratchet Handle if the Bodies don't loosen ... they will.

Shoot Carb Cleaner in the Bore.
After the Carb Cleaner evaporates ... add Marvel Mystery Oil.

Wiggle them out and turn them as you can until they come free.

Refinish the Enrichment Valve Bore with 800 Paper rolled tight and twisted in the Bore.
    Follow the 800 with 1000

Chuck the Valve into a drill and Polish the outside diameter until its brilliant shining brass!

If you listen very, very closely, you can hear the little buggers say.....
    We surrender!!!
Nothing better than a skirmish won in the morning.
Walk TALL my friend, you put that Murrphy and his evil Laws in their place! :)
