have to bump start

    i have to bump start my bike everyday, my starter will turn over with a car batter but the bike battery only clicks the selonoid and only turns it over once in a while but not long enough to start it.

    sounds like you might have a loose connection to your battery

    Or a battery that needs to be replaced.

    perhaps a bad ground somewhere, or bad lead cable to the starter.

    it sounds like your current system needs more amps to get things turning.

    bad battery, bad wires, bad ground points, bad lead connection points will all attribute to lose of amps.

    they also add to resistance, lowing the overall voltage.

    I agree, a dead cell or two in your battery will cause this. Don't forget that motorcycle batteries don't last forever, most should be replaced every few years.

    It may also be a corroded starter button connection. the contacts might need cleaning. i took mine apart and re-soldered the wire to the contact......along with every other @#$%@#$ contact. It's dosen't seem like it's the same bike. Turns over like a race car. :twisted:
    I used dielectric grease on every connection. It's non conductive and dosen't allow arcing.

    tanx fellas its a new battery that puts out 13 volts so im going to double check all of the connections.
