That is a lovely, very clean-looking machine! Congratulations...

*sniff* Reminds me of when mine looked that nice and shiny... *sniff* Same colour too. Yours even still has the Yamaha tank emblems. I think those were the first to fall off my bike and the rest was downhill. ;-)

So, have you had a chance to take it out and experience the "X-Factor"? Run 3rd gear up to redline and you'll feel something really wonderful start to happen around 6000-6500 rpm. Be careful though, do it too many times and your shirts won't fit right anymore with those long stretched out arms.

Thanks. Nope, Max I haven't realy wound out the x-factor... during my test drive on a long straight I did try it a bit but I was in 5th and by the time I got up near 6500 rpm I was already going over 130km/h on somebody ELSES bike and an unfamiiar one, so I backed off right away.

ya I'll have to try it in lower gears LOL. My only driving time today was in traffic and driving the kids around to-and-from stuff. this evening

Maybe tomorrow on my way to work. See my mental-rpm-time-to-shift-headspace... is all messed up from the last couple of years on my dinky little 305 that frankly I couldn't get it above 120kph even down hill if my life depended on it... well i've gotten used to shifting at pretty low rpms (4000-ish) I'll do as you suggest in 3rd :) besides my shirts all need some stretching after the winter weight gain LOL

Hmmm... Well, what I didn't do was keep mine all nice and snug as a bug in a cozy garage. I think the weather took the biggest on the toll on the black engine paint too. So, overall, mine looks kinda dull. Ah well... It still runs nice. :)
