If I don't find someone from in here that will buy the 900 ... I'll consider putting it on eBay.

I'd really like to find someone who wants to add to their stable; rather than some rich kid that will buy it and beat the crap out of it and wreck it.

I have more hours in on that project than I can imagine. All the cases are polished. The Combustion Chambers and Piston crowns are polished.
The infamous Anti-dives are rebuilt and the adjusters NeverSeized.

I'm going to Clean the Carbs and Tune it right to the edge for a Member.
Anybody not a Member is going to have to take care of the little things themselves.

I know I have over a Grand in Spare Parts when you consider I have a complete set of Fairings, sides and a tail section that goes with it.

The Engine I was building for it to be my "Forever Spare" has less than 10,000 Miles on it.
The whole deal is just sitting here in my garage. I can't afford to insurue both Bikes.

Now that I have the Max and the wife likes riding with me on it ... we have fun taking the Max together.
She didn't feel comfortable "Up-high" on the 900.

One guy low-balled me for everything and as bad as it needs to go my wife told me to tell the guy to take a hike.

There somebody who want a 900.
I just have to wait until we get hooked-up and come to an agreement.

I hate to see it go. I even have framed Original Sales Brochures and other literature under glass that will preserve the memory of it for me.

Too bad I'm poor and you're so far away... I hate to see such a fine machine passing into the great unknown. I hope you find a deserving party.

Were money no object, I'd have bought it from you by now. Of course, that's never the situation. Good luck on the sale. I too would like to see it go to someone on these boards.

    Dang Rick!

you alluded to this last year if i recall and then i never heard another peep about it...

i must add my name to the list of 'if money were available' members. my wife isnt all that happy ive got the 750 seca sitting in the spot the 550 maxim was. mainly because i now have to find a place for the maxim. i have no intention of parting with either of them...

'this 'Max' you speak of. is it a Maxim of some sort? certainly not a V-Max...

No. Not a V-Max. It's a XJ750MK. A "Former" Midnight Maxim 750. I rescued the bike from a scrap pile and started doing the work several years ago.

It was stored outdoors beneath a Pine tree. First I haad to get all the sap off everything. Then, the bug cocoons in everything went. Then, I started on it in ernest.

I went through it front to back. On my way, I De-Blacked and De-Golded it because the Black was ruined and the Gold was flaking off.

Today, it's my favorite Bike of forever. I know I have touched every piece of it and have it right where it need to be for the most fun I can ring-out of it!

I rode it today, even though I recovering from Knee Surgery I had on Monday. It's smooth enough to keep the knee from hurting and fun enough to make me smile.

I have "Lazy Tach Syndrome" ... I don't know if its the weather of whether it needs a drop of lube on the bearing bushing. Either way, taking the instruments off and getting a drop of sewing machine oil on the bush will be something nice to do in the SUNSHINE that has returned to New England.

I tweaked it a little bit Richer this afternoon after the ride was done and I looked at four pretty clean-looking Plugs. I'm not messing around guessing about running too Lean. I'm checking and doing something about it!

But, I have to sell the 900.
It's the responsible thing to do for my family.
