need ignition wiring help ASAP

    so i went to start my back and nothing
    my key wont turn
    the lock is jammed
    so i just wanna add an on/off switch for a quick fix
    ill add a key soon but i need the on/off so i can ride it tomorrow to work
    any help would be awesome

    and its for an 83 maxim 750

    Remove it and Take it apart and see what's jamming it up.
    Are you Sure you got the right Key ?

    its the right key
    i dont wanna use the stock keys and lock
    i want something super sneaky
    so it looks like you need a key but ya dont really...like a hidden on/off under the seat or something

    Then search the forums for a wiring diagram and wire from the headlamp back to where you want to install the switch!

    ok i got the ignition fixed
    called a lock place and they gave me some advice

    now my headlight doesnt freaking work

    Would that advice be ...

    "Try spraying the Key Slot with some WD-40"

    Now that you can start the bike ... does the headlight work, too?

    headlight is still dead
    sucks

    but the advice was
    spray wd-40 into the slot and out the key in/out repeatedly
    repeat steps until everything comes loose

    Test the Bulb Socket for 12V ... you might get lucky and have if be a Bulb out!

    Stranger thing have happened!

    Graphite powder would be a better choice for any lock as any oil or liquid based lube is going trap any grit or dust build up inside your lock barrel.
    Should be an annual maintenance item on any lock you own.
    Now I just need to follow my own advice.

    the lokc guys said graphite was a bad idea

    tested another bulb and its a no go
    I think something came unplugged when I was messing with the ignition but everything else is working

    any help
    I gotta get it running after work to make a 50 mile ride so any help would be awesome

    Do like Rick said and check for 12v at the bulb connection when you have it running, There might be a second connector inside the headlight bucket unplug check for power there. If you dont have power there work your way back down the harness checking for voltage at connectors.

    Still have the original fuseblock on it ??? If so, Check there first and find a replacemet.

    well I can't check now since im at work
    but I have the original fuse block
    and yeah that things getting replaced for sure
    but I think I unplugged or pulled something accidently...but I gotta figure it out for sure
