I need to get a new front tire and I have never bought bike tires berfore can somebody recommend a good all around tire that would be good especially in the rain. None of us enjoy ridding in the rain but we have all gotten caught in it.

I keep hearing good things about the Avon Roadriders Avon Review

Personally I run Dunlop GT501's... a bit expensive.

A lot of people here swear by the Bridgestone Spitfires too. I just got my first one, so far I am impressed at the cost/performance ratio. But this question will likely turn into an argument not unlike "What oil should I use?" debacle.

I have Bridgestone Spitfires on my Seca. They wear well and offer pretty good traction, even in wet weather.

The Avon Roadriders are quite nice and not that expensive. Plus they have some of the correct unusual sizes of tires that these old bikes require.

Picked up a Dunlap 404 100/90-19 for the front this morning. Only put on 20 miles or so but seems to handle and track well.

It had Dunlap 181 Qualifiers on it.

    I like importation
    ...Metzler Lasertecs Front and Rear.

Number One: You didn't say any price requirement.
Number Two: Put your bike info in your signature. (The seca likes twisties, or atleast turns at high rate of speed :D )

I just put Bridgestone Battleaxe BT45's on my '81 XJ650 Maxim. I like. A little cheaper at http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/tires/ ... e/bt45.asp, shipping is nominal.

Okay, don't ask me why, but my link isn't working. I know the page is up because I was just there. Just search motorcycleproshop.com, you'll find it.

I just put on the Dunlop "E3" front and rear also bought and installed at Chaparral Motorsports. I have always used the "elites" since 1984. Love'em

I don't know what kind of bike you have, but I put Pirelli Sport Demons on my Seca 650 last year, and I love them. They are sticky on dry pavement, and excellent in the rain as well. They track straight as an arrow, turn-in is great, and they seem to be wearing very well.
I use my bike for daily commutes, weekend sport rides, and short-to-medium-range tours, so I need a versatile tire. The Sport Demons have performed admirably under all conditions, and I would highly recommend them.

I have a 81 650 Maxim. I am starting to really like the Avon tires, but will
definantly look at the Pirelli. The two things I'm looking for is one that will handle in the rain and don't know if anybody has rode over those ruffed up patches on the road that make it feel like your bike is ready to throw you but I was talking to a neighbor and hes jus got some Avon and he said he can ride right over them now with out an issue.

You wish  No they ship to Point Roberts which is V close to vancouver though. Too Bad cuz if you noticed the charge $75/tire for BT45's Best other place (in Ontario) wanted $120 a tire and $20 each for shipping
But then local shops want $150 each Yeah! Double Price.. As if.
