jetting from 550 to 600

    im swapping from a (old) xj550 to a similar old 1988 xj600. The two apear identical. I will have to use the 550 carbs, given that it has very free flowing foam filters and a custom straight through exhaust what jetting changes am i likely to need - i need torque not top end??

    You aren't going to get torque with a custom straight through exhaust since that requires restriction. You should go with something more restrictive like a Supertrapp but you will still have to rejet accordingly.
