I finally got the bike running on Monday after changing the spark plugs. I went for a 20 minute ride and kept taking the idle screw out and pilots in because the idle was to high. I finally got it where I wanted and let it sleep in the garage.

Next morning, it would run for one second, then die. Nothing afterwards. Still does the same thing today, push the start button and instantly Broom...then dies and doesn't start again until I let it rest for while.

New battery, still the same thing. Put carb cleaner in the airbox, nothing. The carbs are clean from last week...I can imagine why it would run great one day and not anymore....

    Suggestions? Thanks!

So.. hand/rug blocking the air intake doesn't help.

Plugs are wet (not much) and there is spark.

hmmm....I will keep messing with it

The pilots control the idle mixture, not the speed, so you might have it to lean now to start, or to rich to start (not sure which way is which)

That's the only thing I could think of.

Rick or someone else will chime in soon.

I am guessing no gas is getting to cylinders, gas doesn't flow downwards.

I wonder how this could happen during the night, could some seafoam I put in the gas tank screw up my carbs?

Guess I am taking them out again...At least I have my Miata to enjoy these sunny days!

Carb clinic in the NW? Anybody? :)

had this problem on a sled before.....the gas tank vent was clogged, when i let it sit it was slowly sucking air in and letting fuel to the carbs. run it and it would dry the carbs out again. just something simple to look into, when you open the cap see if there is a sucking noise.
