    Howdy fellow Minnesotans.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can take my Maxim to have the tires changed?

I got a great deal on some Dunlops from MotoPrimo but they want too much to change them out.

I would attempt it myself but I don't think I have all the needed tools and from what I saw, it could be just as cheap to have someone else do them.

Anywhere in the Cities would be fine.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Dan

Since i'm guessing your live in Edina (by your name) I would suggest bringing your bike to "Full Power Cycle" in hopkins/St. Louis Park. They are right behind Arby's on Blake Road. Give em a call 952-933-4479. They are pretty reasonable. Thats usually where i take my bike to be serviced if i cant figure it out.

I think there is a Hitching Post down by your area too that could help you out.

I went to Blue Cat scooters here in St. Paul. Mounting is important since these tires are tubeless. The rims could have corrosion and would need to be cleaned and buffed to make sure there is a good seal. More important is balancing. Call around and check to see if balancing is included.

Pull the rims off your self that will save you money also. The front pops right off. The back is alittle harder since you have to remove the 4 nuts from the swing arm on the diff . Its a ballancing act with both wheels off. Good Luck

    Thanks guys,

I did find someone down in Apple Valley who changed them for $25 each. And balanced them as well.

He used to own his own shop until he sold it and then he went into another field (Cabinet making). Now that home sales are down, he is now back to working on bikes.

He charges $35 an hour. You can find him on CL. He usually posts saying he doesn't want to work on relics, but, old bikes are fine.
