I got this bike ('82 750 Seca) for $300 and it had sat for 4 years in a barn. The guy I bought it from rode it, not even knowing the shape the carbs were in. He always had to jump start it with full choke and when he finally got it running, he has to keep it the RPMs up so it wouldn't die. After some extensive TLC, I got it running finally. The carbs were shot inside. Two of the carbs had broken tabs that hold the floats, so I found a set of carbs at a salvage yard just like new and put'm on. It fired right up with no choke and ran perfect.
I installed a fairing and rode it like that for a couple years, but didn't really like the seating position and handlebars.
This is what it used to look like a couple years ago:

    Now for a few mods...
I replaced the stock square headlight with one from a Kawasaki. The side headlight mounts are from a Suzuki. The tank, rear wheel are from a 650 Maxim. The rear fender is from a Harley. The speedometer is from a 350 Honda. The handlebars are from a Goldwing, mounted on homemade risers.
The forward controls, side covers, LED indicator lights are homemade. There are a few bells and whistles I also added, like heated grips and a 300w amplifier to power my homemade speakers, so I have tunes while I cruise. I painted the engine with High temp BBQ paint. The bike just came out of the shop yesterday with fresh paint and strinoing, done by myself also. It's now a blast to ride.
This is what it looks like today:

No, not really. I just kinda copied the idea from My Honda Shadow to make the mounts. The rest was pretty much trial and error getting the controls to work with adjusting the length of the control rods. I ended up cutting threads on the ends of the control rods (to the brake and shifter) so I could adjust the length of them. After that it was a piece of cake. PD

Very COOOOL!! Hey do you know which Harley the fender is off of and what kind of mods you had to do to mount it. Also could you post some close up pics of the Forward controls and how you made and mounted the floor boards.

I guess I almost forget where I got all the parts, but this is how I started and how I finished...
I removed all the plastic off the back of the Secas rear end and cut the frame rails shorter (just behind the shock mounts). I removed the seat and cut the foam out of it to re-use for the new, smaller seat. Removed the Seca tank and replaced it with a Maxim tank from a 650. Remved the speedometer and replaced it with one from a CB350 Honda (actually more accurate than the stock unit) Th shocks are stock, but shortened 1" by cutting the springs off.
The headlight is off of a Kawasaki (model unknown) and the side mounts for the light are off of a Suzuki (model unknown) which I got from a salvage yard near me.
The front signals are aftermarket, mounted on the stock mounts that I cut off shorter.
The rear fender was purchased off Ebay (model unknown) I just had to find one that would fit just right between the frame rails and got lucky.
The rear wheel is from the Maxim also. It's a 16" and the stock is bigger so the engine has to run at a higher rpm. I switch them back and forth depending on if I ride around town or take longer trips. The Seca wheel gives me better mileage on the long haul. The Maxim wheel has a much wider tire, so it looks better, I think.
I hand painted the wheels with 1-Shot sign painters enamel. It seems to hold up well. I may clear over it next winter if get around to it.
The engine is also hand painted with BBQ paint (flat black) The carb tops and valve covers are spray painted with red pearl paint and cleared over with high temp Duplicolor clear coat. So far it's stood up to the heat, so I don't see any problems with it.
The side covers (made from an old stop sign) tank and fender was painted with farm implement paint with a hardner in it to protect against gas spills (and it past the spill test!)
All the electrical connectors have been removed and the the connections soldered and sealed with heat shrink tubing to protect the connections.
Alot of the wires (ones I don't need) were cut shorter and labeled with tape for future reference (incase I need them some time in the future)
The forward controls were just copied from my Honda Shadow and I have since replaced the footpegs with little shorty floorbaords.
The handlebars are from an older Goldwing and mounted on 4" risers I made myself.
I have since added a windshield and saddlebags for road trips. It looks like a little "bagger" now does the trick for me. PD

    Wow! What a cool ride.

My hat's off to ya for all your hard work and ideas.

If I had to bet, I'd have thought that looked like a 750 Maxim tank. Maybe because of the bobber job, the tank looks bigger to me.

    Great piece of work.

Do you have closeup pics of the forwards, showing how they're made and mounted?

Sorry, I erased all my photos of my forward controls a while back, so I can't post them anymore.
If you do a search, you should find some ideas. There are controls that look better than mine do here and that should give you an idea how to make them.
