Hey folks is there a way to clena up some rust on a set of sissy bars without losing the shine? Or am I gonna have to bite the bullet and repaint them?

    Thanks,

It's an old wives tale, but I cleaned up a majority of the chrome on my Maxim (after 13 yrs of storage !) with ultra-fine steel wool and Coke. Yes, Coca-Cola... it has a slight acid that helps to remove corrosion (oxide). Rub gently with the steel wool dipped in the coke, then wipe off with water, dry, then throw a good wax onto it. Even if it is a muffler pipe, the wax will protect it somewhat and not completely burn off. Good luck !
