NEEDED: '82 650 Maxim Exhaust Parts

Hello Fellow XJ'ers,

I am looking for either: left muffler, part #4H7-14710-01-00

OR

A complete system, stock or aftermarket, new or used, 4-1 or 4-2, doesn't matter.

Cost and value for my dollar (is that even possible anymore?) are the main concerns here. All I ask is that the parts be in working condition. They don't even have to look good!
I am a poor college student living in St. Louis and if anyone can help me out with A) places to look for these parts at a good price B) parts they are willing to donate or sell to me at low prices C) free money to buy overpriced OEM parts

If you have access to a hacksaw and a MIG welder, you can easily replace your factory mufflers with Harley mufflers (cheap). Just check ebay for pricing and availability of the mufflers.

 

How would you go about doing that? Will any type of Harley muffler fit? What about the backpressure or Jetting? Pretty much just put 'em on and forget about it?
