It goes without saying that we all love our bikes. But what do you really love about yours? For me, it's riding the bike that I bought brand new, with my savings, when I turned 16 back in 1982. Other bikes have come and gone over the years, but I always held onto the XS400J. There aren't many firsts in life that you can keep with you that long.

    I love the simple things.

Bike can, and is, worked on.
It gets compliments like, wow and whoa!
    She is reliable and sporty.

    Downsides...
    Parts :(

Someone posted this question on another forum: "What's the coolest thing that has happened to you on a motorcycle?" My response: "Having twice the fun getting where I'm going on half the gas." To me, that's one of the best things about motorcycling. Even today, with high gas prices, and being down to my last few bux until payday, I can still afford to go out for a little jaunt in the sunshine and wind.

The best for me is cruzin' around town and have other bikers look at a nicely kept Yamaha Maxim. Comments at the next stop light like. Nice bike what year is that? or I remember those yea they were really fast and reliable weren't they? Or the best one is I used to have one just like that and I wish I had never sold it. Is yours for sale???
That makes up for having to clean carbs, set valves by finding the right shims and make those repairs when your short on bucks and the weather finally is nice out and your waiting for the parts to come on UPS.

"Love of the Ride" - that pretty much describes why I ride motorcycles.

I just got back from a great ride through the mountains on my R6. There 's a Zen-like feeling of being one with the bike and the road when I get into a groove on a winding road. I never get that feeling in a car.

Whenever I stop for gas or to stretch my legs, other riders will say "hi" and start up a conversation. That never happens when I'm in a car.

Everything is better on two wheels.
