In my attempts to turn my XJ600 into a naked XJ, I came across this website that custom makes cowlings for an XJ600 to give it a StreetFighter look. So I thought I'd post it up here in case someone else was looking for something like this.

    http://www.amt-distribution.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21_24_51

Granted the descriptions are in French, they do ship to the US, and shipping for the lower cowling is actually only $28. Oh, and the cowlings are quite pricey, but damn do they look good!

I will definitely be starting out with the lower cowling and purchasing that within the next month or two. This will be to check quality, get it custom painted to match my bike, and mounted up. Then eventually, I'll get the headlight cowling as well. I'm a little bit unsure about the side engine cowling, it looks kinda weird, but we'll see...I may get the mod bug! When I do install it though, I'll post pictures up and write a review.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the lower cowling has 2x35W headlights (actually, probably fog lights) built in. The side engine cowlings have turn signals built in. The headlight housing has 2x55W headlights built in, along with 2xLED turn signals built in (two small dots above each headlight).

    What do you guys think?

Chin spoiler and headlight cowl look great.
That'd freak some people out seeing 4 headlights commin at em. 8)

I'd say don't bother with the engine covers. They look cheesy, plus your bike will be more of a streetfighter without em (OMHO)!

I'd trade out the engine covers for the rear fender:

I absolutely hate the look of any kind of crotch rocket or cafe racer type bike, but that upper fairing and lower scoop on the bottom do look kinda cool with the lights in them. I wonder how effective those little headlights will be? I'm assuming they are Halogens? Looks cooooooool!

Oh ya, "street fighter"? Who ya gonna fight with that thing? Do you go out racing other riders and get into alot of fights?
I just get a kick out of some of the terms used to discribe the styles of bikes we ride. Like "cafe racer", seems to me like you will be riding with others inside a resteraunt (cafe)
A "Bobber" should be floating of shore in the waves. A "Bagger" seems like you are a 70 year old lady loaded down with large shopping bags, coming out of the local Walmart!
I can't imagine what comes to mind when I hear the term "Rat bike"!!
