So my 15 year old son and I are heading out from Reading, PA to Cleveland to see the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and then up to Detroit to visit the Henry Ford Museum and Rouge plant. Anyone from those two areas have any other ideas for some sites to visit?

We may catch an Indians or Tigers game too while we are out there.

We are going by car, not bike, for this trip. I had thoughts of using my father-in-law's Gold Wing, but with summer heat and the chances of rain I decided against it.

Cleveland has a first rate zoo.

Farther West at Sandusky is the Cedar Point amusement park. Has first rate roller coasters.

In Detroit there is the Henry Ford, which is the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Do both, and allow a full day for each. Other things you could consider here is the Detroit Zoo and Detroit institute of Arts.

The Rouge plant, that'll be interesting. I used to live in River Rouge for a year. The Wifes uncle worked and retired from the City. Greenfield village will be nice this time of year. Detroit Institute of Arts was a nice tour when I was a kid there.

Whats Detroit Dragway looking like Carl? I grew up not far from Motor City Dragway used to enjoy going there alot.

What about Motown Records studio? I wonder if it's still there ?

Cleveland also is home to the Great Lakes Science Center which both me and my kids love to frequent.
And, Depending on how rigid your schedule and route is, there is the Pro Foot Ball hall of fame in Canton, OH...

Since when has Sandusky had a bike week?!?! I grew up in Sandusky and I don't remember anything like that! Mind you, I haven't lived in Sandusky in 20 years....where does the time go?

BTW, Sandusky also has a wave-action pool....er, or used to.

    Have fun on your trip!

Detroit Dragway is closed. Milan is still open though.

Hitsville USA is still open, and worth checking out.

To answer the original question.... Henry Ford Museum / Greenfield Village are always good times. The Art Institute (DIA) just did a heavy remodel, and their collection is world famous I hear. Belle Isle is the spot to hang out during the summer. Just be ready for traffic on Jefferson Ave. The Isle does have the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, which is all about shipping. Detroit used to have the oldest municipal aquarium in the US, but had to close it to pay off Kwame's lawsuits. The science center has some cool stuff, too.
