I was contemplating shaving down the stock seat in efforts to give the bike a lower profile... I don't want to do a solo seat (in respect for the wife), but I do want to shave it down a ways... do any of you have pictures of such an accomplishment so that I might make up my ever-wandering mind? Thanks again!

I don't have any photos of my shved seats, but I've doen several of them. Every bike I've owned, I always pealed back the cover and took atleast an inch of foam off the front of the seat.
It's fairly simple to do and looks factory if you do it right. All that is needed is a good sharp long serated knife to cut the foam. After cutting off and inch or so off the front of the seat, I use a 4" diegrinder to feather out the edges (make them round) and smooth the foam out before pulling the seat cover back on. You don't even have to completely remove the shole cover. Just peal it back far enough to expose the front half of the seat foam to cut it. It makes a nice step-seat. You will need to pull the cover tight and evenly on both sides and re-staple it to the seat pan then.

Thanks guys! That's a pretty good looking seat Steve... Did you keep the original cover or replace it? Looks sharp, I think we're going to have to give this a go.
