If thats all you did, I would check the wires to make sure they are on the right plugs. I would also check that the plugs are the right ones for the bike. I have purchased plugs from a local part house and found the wrong plugs in the box when I got home...

Did you try the old plugs again?

I lied. The old maxim never really idles good. But its a 500 dollar bike that I ride nearly everday. I just made some idle adjustments and seems to be ok. It really needs a carb job clean, rebuild and synch I am just not up to doing this myself.

What would it take to convince you to do the right thing and get those carbs cleaned out? You have the ability, you are a motivated individual (every Marine I know/knew is), you have the ability to follow the bouncing ball (check out Rick-O-Matic's "How to clean carbs...and the whole nine yards"), it ought to be a piece of cake. C'mon already, let's get to wrenching!

My ability is there. But the desire to ride is really pushing aside the desire to wrench. Will probably wrench soon. It just seems that the more I ride the better it runs. YICS tool may be holding me back. Saw some plans for homemade tools but don't remember where.

    Right Here

I went thru my carbs a couple weeks back using this guide. Made a night and day difference in my bike.
    I can't recommend it enough

Don't let the YICS tool hang up affect your decision. Unless the 750 is different than the 550, I have no problem synching my bike with or without the tool. I made the home made version.
