The brake light wasn't coming on when I pulled the brake lever. Long story short, when I gave a little tug on the cable that goes into where the plunger switch that activates the brake light is, the plastic just broke and the switch fell out. The plastic is pretty brittle right there for some reason.

At any rate; is it possible to get just a switch? Do I need a whole new assembly? Is there something aftermarket I can do to it that is maybe more up to date/better? Would a switch or assembly from another model work?

Sorry if these sound like stupid questions, but this is my first bike and I'm used to fixing computers, not motorcycles.

Would this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FRONT-BR ... enameZWDVW

Thanks. I'll give that a try. Anybody know about that ebay link I put up there? I like the looks of it and my current brake assembly is looking kinda crappy anyway.

As long as the fittings are the same size any MC will work, you will get a different feel if the piston size is larger/smaller ...
Check with any local shops as well, one from an old XJ or XS will work fine...

Do you mind my asking what you paid for it? I need an idea what to enter for a max bid.
