Does anybody have any info on these, or where you can get them... I've heard that they last longer and they don't hesitate in cold weather. Looking for a place to buy one.

An AGM battery is definitely worth the few extra dollars, IMO. I'm going to get one from batterystuff for my XJ550R when the current battery dies.

My R6 uses an AGM battery. It's still on the original (3 years old) and starts the bike right up, every time no matter the temperature.

My old V Star also used an AGM battery. That one lasted 4 1/2 years. That included a three month stretch of the battery not being on a tender because, while I hooked the tender to the battery, I forgot to plug the tender in.

we've used AGM batteries at work for the last 5 or 6 years, electric utility, slowly phasing out gel-cell just because thats what new equipment comes with
what i see is the AGM battery is no more reliable than a gel-cell after hanging on a pole for 5 years
the AGM, gel-cell and regular lead acid all use the same chemistry, just different ways to hold the acid
the main advantage of the AGM is, no vent hose to spray acid all over
    the drawback is $
    good battery care tips

one type? as in chemistry like lead acid, nickel metal hydride, ni-cad or lithium ion, our alternator/voltage regulator can only charge a lead acid battery or similar AGM, gel-cell
or like size (LxWxH)? any lead acid battery that fits and has the amps to crank it over would work
