i got the bike back together recently (pics coming soon) but my wiring harness is shot when it comes to headlights signal lights and the horn
i have frankensteined them to work for this season but would like to replace the harness over the winter when i can tear into it.
i looked on bike bandit thier price was 200 bucks and they were out of stock
    my question is
will a wiring harness off an xs650 from mikes xs for 80 work somehow?
or is there anyone who has them for a reasonable price

it would be helpful for those of us that don't know you to let us know what bike you are working on. I won't know the answer anyway but it could help someone give you a good answer.

You'd be better off getting a whole used wiring harness for your Bike, than trying to make a XS-Bike's harness fit your Bike.

The placements and shapes of the all-important electrical connections are going to be incompatable.

In other words ... It won't work!

I will have a harness from my 82 xj 650 for sale here in the next week or so. If that is what you need let me know and we can work something out.

If the connectors are available or the existing ones are salvageble, you could make up a new one yourself. We used to make up harnesses for equipment, laying each one out on plywood. We'd draw the harness out and use nails or screws to form the shapes required. If you're handy with a soldering iron and use the right tools, wire and connectors , it's not too difficult, especially with heatshrink tubing and braid available. We used lacing twine and tape and non shrink tubing for most of the stuff we did.

BTW, marine quality wire and connectors are about the best you can get, Marinco has a full line of product available at most full service marinas, and I have no affiliation with them, just own a sailboat.
