With the price of gas these days I decided it was high time I took a second look at my bike.
Drug it out of the corner of the garage a couple weeks ago. Cleaned and rebuild the carbs changed oil/filter bought a new battery and she started up on the first try. Idle was a bit fast and I had to shut it down a couple of times but I have it purring now.
Now that I know it runs I got-a get my fork seals and brake parts on order!
    I can hardly wait!

What a great story ! Welcome back on the road, my last van 1/2 tank fill up was $100, so I parked it and I've been on the XJ650 ever since. My gas bill has dropped from $40 a week to $10 a week, and I am driving more places and having lots more fun!
Post some pictures when you can, aren't these great bikes !

I did the same thing. Except I laid mine over and gave me a scare but as gas prices go up so does my determination to get it back on the road. Would love to see some pics.

Mine was in storage for almost 13 years, and it fired right up too. Amazing, isn't it ?

    Congrats and good luck.
