So process of elimination tells me to think about last thing I did to my XJ, I noticed the Tac cable running into my engine was leaking so I ordered a replacement o ring and switched it out, now I must have done something wrong because the tac was making a winding sound, and after about a mile I decided to turn around and not chance it and it shut off, wouldnt restart, even tried push starting wont fire, what have I done?????

    Anything will be greatly appreciated!!!!

I'd be looking at something to do with either Fuel delivery or Ignition. I doubt the Tach Cable has anything to do with the Bike not firing-up.

    Do the usual tests:
    Spark
    Fuel
    Fuses
Ignition Switch and Kill Switch ...

Look for a short or some reason that the bike might not be getting gas.

It could be as simple as the Vacuum Line slipping-off the Manifold.
The Ignition Circuit could be open if you still have an OEM Fuse Panel.

    See if it has Spark?
    We'll go from there.

Buy some spare fuses and keep them with the bike until you can sort-out what's making the fuse blow.

Don't get caught having to push it home because you didn't have a spare fuse or two.

if you did a tach cable you were in the wires around the steering neck and behind the headlight, thats a real good place for a pinched wire or the insulation to rub thru

Not exactly. The tach cable on the 550 Maxim is stand alone and pretty much goes straight from the engine to the tachometer. There is no wiring to disturb. Especially if you are only changing the seal at the engine side.
